Welcome to my site! I currently live in the suburbs of Indianapolis with my wife, son, and two dogs. Growing up in a rural area I was extremely active in the Boy Scouts from which the “Be Prepared” mindset has always stuck with me. Most of my career has been focused on technical project management and the Software as a Service industry. I have spent a lot of time focused on Disaster Recovery and ensuring data center uptime.
About three years ago I was standing on the sidewalk in front of my office building as an underground power transformer exploded, blowing manhole covers into the air. My first thought was “Huh, didn’t expect that today”. As we started to enact a Disaster Recovery plan that I had written but never tested, I realized that not only at work but at home I needed to be a better prepared for all the things I didn’t expect.
This blog is not about how I expect to survive a Zombie Apocalypse or how to build tinfoil hats to prevent mind control. The goal is to document and share with you what I am doing and learning to help be better prepared for what tomorrow might bring.
